Steam is pushed through the lavender under pressure for about an hour. After cooling down, lavender water (hydrosol) and pure essential oil come out at the other end of the pipe.

It is summer and the lavender in full bloom. Visitors enjoy wandering between the rows of lavender on the field. Unfortunately, the vintage cars that visited today were not able to drive right down to the field, but they still look nice in front of some of the display lavender. The owners of the cars came from Palmerston North and enjoyed a day out in the country.
